I started NHB Systems out of a desire to formalize and share some of the open source DAQ and monitoring hardware that I have been working on in my spare time. For the better part of the last 20 years I have worked with instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems; both in a structural testing laboratory, and in the field doing performance monitoring of large structures. During that time I often found myself using expensive hardware that was overkill for a task. I also became frustrated with the gap between the cost and complexity of “professional” hardware, and the difficulties and inaccuracies of using “hobbyist“ open source hardware.
My goal is to try to bridge that gap a little and make it easier for people to do test and measurement work with readily available open hardware.
